The department of Mechanical Engineering came into existence from the year 2013. The annual intake was 60. As per Anna university norms, semester system is being followed. Mechanical Engineering involves the application of principles of physics for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. They use these principles in the design and analysis of automobiles, aircraft, marine engineering, heating and cooling systems, industrial equipment and machinery, and many more.

BE Programme

This undergraduate level programme provides the students a thorough understanding of the technology and also trains them in practical skills in applying the inculcated knowledge. The curriculum and syllabus are consistently revised on par with the international standards to include the cutting edge technologies to meet the requirement of the core industries. The students carry out internships and OJT in industries.

Mechanical Engineering is the axes in the revolution of engineering .We seek students you are passionate to contribute to areas as diverse as automobile, production, power generation and energy conversion, robotics, mechatronics, precision engineering etc. The students are encouraged to do projects as needed by the industry and in-house projects, under the expert guidance of our dedicated faculty. The department is associated with Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).
